Snow Everywhere!

original post here

Be careful what you wish for.

I tried gunning it out of the driveway this morning but got caught at the end where snow had been plowed from the street. It was just too high to drive through.

There I was, in my girly LA boots, slipping, sliding and shoveling the end of the driveway. It’s been twenty years since I’ve shoveled snow.

All this for a day’s pay. That’s what kept ringing through my head.

People who live here full time should get hazard pay if they actually venture beyond the comfort of their snow-covered driveway.

Luckily, the Peacemobile gets to park in a covered garage at home.

Not so much while at work. I was smart enough to ask for a brush, knowing this storm has the potential to bury the Peacemobile.

The worst part of driving on snow and ice while it’s still snowing? Intersections. Slushy piles make for slippery stops and turns.

I wanted to stop at Dunkin Donuts but was too afraid to make the turn. I even passed the mother ship because it’s located at the top of a steep hill. (there’s not one on every corner, like in LA.)

Office coffee will suffice.

Truthfully though, it’s absolutely beautiful. Schools are closed. It’s the holiday season. And there’s this calming quiet of snowfall. Nothing like it.
