Rainy Days

Not so ordinary weather for southern California.  It makes for exciting days as a dogwalker though.  It's been raining off and on here since before I returned from my vacation.  We definitely need the rain.  But I like it when it works around my schedule.  It's nice when it rains all night and clears up during the day.  That's what yesterday was like [with a little drizzle here and there].

The dogpark was one big mudpuddle:  a doggie's heaven and a dogwalker's hell.  Every dog was in rare form - rolling, splashing, skidding, sliding and crashing into everyone.  Very fun -- until we brought out the hose:  a dogwalker's heaven and a doggie's hell.  I find it interesting that dogs love to get wet when mud is involved.  But show them clean water and they act like victims of abuse.

Every season has its ups and downs.  During summer I was looking forward to fall and winter so there would be less threat of overheating.  Today I'm reminded of how cold, dirty and uncomfortable this time of year can be.  Ugh.  I thought the Peacemobile was dirty before!  I definitely need to invest in a cargo cover.  And a professional cleaning - often!

What I love about these seasons is being home in the evening.  Candles, long baths, warm fuzzy slippers, hot cocoa - or better yet, hot coffee with cocoa!  note to self: remember to buy coffee, cocoa and coffee maker.

Those are some great pictures.  Sometimes I can put up with the rain . . . . for a short time.

how often do you have to bathe your baby?  It seems like every picture we've seen of Hunny lately, she's found a new mud puddle to splash in.  Yet, she's always clean when you start out.  LOL

IRUN - yeah, me too about the rain.  I do love these pictures.  Funfunfun!

DIANNE - Interestingly, Hunny always gets compliments on her shiny coat when she's FILTHY.  If you were here, you'd know what I mean.  She's getting bathed once the rain stops at the end of the week.  For now, it's all about the mud!

I was wondering what you did when it is raining. It's great that you still get work but sucky that it's such a mess. Poor Hunny looks so pathetic and sad.

hehehehe, this is great! I love these photos, they look so pitiful and beat in that last one.... toooooo cute. I had my own doggy story today. It is a doozy!!!  I am so glad you had a great time on your trip to see your friends and family. I was hoping it would be as wonderful for you as it was.... c

The dogs look like they had a blast until clean up time.  That has to be Hunny with such the eloquent face.  I love fall.  It re-energizes and calms me at the same time.  We had fog here all day long, which is normally depressing, but today, it just seemed so beautiful and mysterious.  I got the chance to look at the world with new eyes, and that's always a good thing.

GATOR - I love that last photo too.  Cracks me up.  It's kinda how we all felt.  Headed to your journal soon! :)

SISTERCDR - Yep, that's my HunnyBunnyBoo.  I feel the same way about fall.  And fog can be mysteriously beautiful.  Glad you had that experience.

PHINNEY - heehee Cute.

KATHY - When they're having fun, they're happy.  And when they're happy, I'm happy. :D

ROBBIE - Yup, dogs need to pee...even when it's raining. ;)

ANGELA - Thanks for the reminder.  I'd forgotten already.  I may need daily reminders. These have been on my list for a few months.

BARBIE - Puddles are definitely fun when prepared for them.  Oooh, hot chocolate mix in the coffee maker.  Hmmm...I wonder if that's how I ruined my last coffee maker. :P

LOL! now this looks like Washington until December :D  those dogs look like they are having a time of their lives.
Dogs are like little boys always joyful  when dirty and running but forget it when it comes to getting clean and settling down. :D

GREAT PICS!!!  your getting really great!!

Awwwww!  They look like they're having so much fun in the mud!

And thank God I'm on time off at the moment, or I'd be so jealous of the candles, long baths, fuzzy slippers, and hot cocoa.  As it is, I have all of that that I'd like at the moment.  Though I've replaced the cocoa with a sweet Italian wine.  Mmm.

By the way . . . weren't you giving up coffee?  LOL.  Everyone needs a vice, I think anyway.  Coffee is the least of many evils, so if you like it, have it!

LOL, while looking at the pictures of the dogs romping in the mud, the first thing I thought of was..."wonder if ya have to give them a bath before bringing them home?..."  Then I read that you hose them off....  My dog Vixen loves the water, but you're right, so sad if we use the hose on her, lol.

Ewwwww... what a sloshy mess!!  Dog-walker or not, there's NO way I'd have anything to do with the dogpark when it looks like THAT.  LOL  That last photo is a sad one - poor Hunny looks like she's been beaten with a whip.  tehehe... How DARE you wash off all her hard-earned mud!  WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!!?!?!?!  :P

Its really that season again isnt it? Candles, warm quilts, hot baths, great fall leaves, perfect surroundings for warm fuzzy nights. Looks like your puppies are having a great time in the mud! :) Just like little kids at bathtime, theyd rather spend more time getting DIRTY! How muddy did you get?

I am LOVIN' this weather!!  There's nothing like the sound of rain pounding on the roof while you snuggle up nice and warm with a hot cup of cocoa, a flickering fire and someone nice to cuddle with.  The Hubs calls it "the cozies" (note to self; time to buy cocoa... :)
