Spring Cleaning

WhoooBoy!  I feel good.

I figure I'd better update before some people start to think I up-and-left this planet.  Isn't life grand after you've walked through fire?

I went to the gathering and celebrated Roshimomma the other night, nursing a filthy-dirty vodka martini, flinging my new "Jaclyn Smith hair" and lifting my sweater proving I was actually wearing a bra. [Love-shout to my girls in the kitchen - and that one boy, whoever you are!]

If you think Roshimomma looks good in the collage below, you should've seen her the other night.  I'm not kidding.  We should all be so blessed to be that gorgeous at fifty.  Hey, I'm counting my blessings at 35!

It was a unanimous love affair between my friends and my new hair.  I'm still not completely sold on the 'do but with their screams of joy and total approval, I think I can suffer through the newness.

* * *

I'd like to thank Robbie for the amazing review about my gig [ish] last week.  I have to say, she's been a great supporter of my music from the moment we met [here in AOL-J].  And she's the genius with the great idea to buy two of my Teaser CDs.  One for yourself.  One for a friend.  The idea is that you give the gift with one condition - that they in turn buy one for a friend with the same condition...and so on!

Robbie's right.  It is tough to break into any creative industry.  There are many talented people who go their whole lives "undiscovered" because of the bubblegum factories.  By today's industry standards, 25 is too old to start a music career.  That means I should be dead and buried by now.  But those who do well over 25 are true artists with a great deal of luck and blessings on their side.

So, the more Teaser CDs you buy, the more we can spread the word and the faster I can get the full-length CD produced and spread more of the word.  Sounds like a plan.

* * *

I'd also like to say thank you to those who sent email, cards and left comments this week.  My life is richer because of all of you.  I continue to ask the same questions about life - and I imagine I'll do so, forever.  But thelag time between downs and ups is getting shorter each time.  For that, I'm grateful.

More to come... May love and laughter fill our hearts always.

* * *

P.S.  I'm sorry I didn't update sooner.  I spent all afternoon trying to post this entry.  Thanks to the [not so] marvelous upgrades, AOL Journals has been "temporarily unavailable" the entire time.  So this entry has been sitting in a holding bin since the light of day.

I've been having freakish computer problems for a few days though, so it's quite possible that my computer is the culprit.  Either way, if you've read this entry, then apparently all is well.  Just sorry it took so long to get here.

God bless 25,000 characters!

Rawrrrrr... I LOVE the hair!!!  You look bee-u-ti-ful!!!  Totally rockin'.  tehehe...

Isn't it hillarious how we both swore we wouldn't write any long-tail entries, even when the limit went up.. and then we both did.  On the FIRST DAY!  LoL  I was so thankful for being able to put in all my links and not get that stupid message.  Hurrah!!

P.S. Saw Britney's live show tonight.  O M G !  They call THAT talent?  I had no idea the girl really cannot sing?!?  I felt sorry for her, poor thing. I kept thinking that if she were on American Idol, Simon would tear her apart!!!  lol And meanwhile, you can't get a break!  Grrrrr... fickin fickers!!!  LoL

What did I tell ya, that hair is great!  Glad your girls totally agreed with th popular consensus!

Can't believe your friend is fifty.  You're right, she's gorgeous, but I think it's the kind of beauty that is sustained from within and that no amount of Botox and lotions and potions can duplicate for someone else!

I'm all for the pay the CD forward idea.  And may your kind of artist live and prosper (can you tell I'm sick and tired of all the bubblegum?)!

yea!   it's freee!!
your freee...lol
nice entry...full of happiness and joy.  self discovery, and music promo paragraphs.  just like it should be :)  not that we shouldn't embrace the fog once in awhile....it's a part of us too.
*a lovely lady named Trish taught me that.
"Hi Trish"
anyway...yes.  yea for 25,000 characters!  and for the 2,000 characters in the comments box!!!  LOL  xo

The hair is simply Gaw-Jus! <spoken in my southern drawl>   I read Robbie's review...and cant wait to hear your music!

I have to agree with all your fans, the hair is fantastic!  love it a lot!  this is my first time visiting your j, and i'm very glad i did.  in the infamous words of Mr. Schwartzenegger "i'll be back..."

I'm so glad you are feeling better.  You look so happy in the pictures.  The hair looks awesome.  Wearing a bra is way over rated.  Anything with Vodka in it meets my approval, and you are still my alltime favorite Rock Star.
Rock on . . . .

Those pics are absolutely fabulous!!!!!! If they don't sell you on your new 'do, I don't know what will. And, thanks for the kudos about my review. I meant every word and then some!!! As Muse calls it, my idea is to "Pay it Forward" with your CD. I wanna hear more! Whatever it takes to get the job done.

Hope I didn't discourage you in any way about how tough it is to break into the "industry." Just my outsiders view since moving to Los Angeles. If it's any consolation, Sheryl Crowe was well over 30 when she was finally recognized for her amazing talents. So hope remains....

Others are having problems updating too. I've lost two entries because of it. One of these days, I'm going to learn to save the darn things to my clipboard before hitting save. UG! I heard through Scalzi that the techies are working on the problem. :-) ---Robbie

Hey Freee. Great to see you back and yes, the "do" does become you. :-)
I too am having "freakish" computer problems and hope that I can get this comment in before it kicks me off again. Just wanted you to know that I stopped by to check on ya, hugs and see ya next time,~RC~

So glad you're back and went to the celebration Sat. night.  You're right about the being a true artist (for the most part) if you survive past 25 in the industry.  I've heard so many wonderful things about your music though.  I just might have to buy one soon here. ~Melissa

I likes those cam shots, Trishy! You look beautiful and happy to be you. And I've always loved that top sidebar photo. It's a good 'un.

So, you were FLASHING people at Jen's party?! What was IN that filty vodka martini, anyway? Heh. (DiAnne, of course, will be crushed to learn that you've caved and submitted to wearing a bra. But she's so dang peppy, I doubt it'll slow her down much.)

I'm having freakish computer burps right now, too. The power went out yesterday and whenever that happens, George (my home computer) gets cranky and refuses to boot. I hope it doesn't last. Smoke a muskrat foot or something for him, would you?

I love the longer comment sections. Yep. Love 'em. Ramble, ramble, ramble.

PHINNEY - Hopefully we won't use all 25,000 characters just because they're there.  It's just nice to know I don't have to spend an hour chopping and cropping and un-linking!

SLOMO - Long-tail entries? What are you trying to say? :P  I felt the same way when I [finally] posted.  I was stunned that it took all of just a few minutes.  I didn't realize how much time was spent chipping away.  It's a blessing.  As for Britney - eh, what are ya gonna do?  She's part of the bubblegum factory.

MUSE - Excellent point about Roshimomma, age and beauty. Her inner beauty is just as stunning!  - Long live the artist! Down with bubblegum! :P

SHARKEY - lol - Were you chatting with me while commenting? Embrace the fog [only once in a while - good point].  Let's hear it for the character-increases. YAY!  You do realize we have almost as many characters in comments now that we used to have in entries! Woohoo!  hehe

MARY/ALPHA - Thanks for popping in - and the party was amazing!

INDIGO - Whah, thaynk eeew daw-lyn [spoken in the worst southern drawl ever]. Let me know what you think if you get the music links to work. :)

ANNA - That's a second 'fantastic' for the hair.  OK then, I'll keep it!  lol  Come back soon now, y'hear! :)

IRUN - I agree about bras being overrated.  I normally do not wear them.  You probably know that from reading my J.  But since I bought some recently, I wear them on "special" occassions. And then I'm such a kid about it, I show it off.

ROBBIE - You didn't discourage me at all - I'm aware of how tough the industry is.  And you're right about Sheryl Crow. There IS hope.  Thanks for the Pay It Foward idea with my CD.  :)  And remember: always save to clipboard before hitting save. :P

RC - What's up with the freakish computer problems?  I'm still experiencing stuff...even after a virus scan and adware check.  ::sigh::  Hugs back to ya! :)

JEANYU - Thank you! :)

MELISSA - You can listen to my music on my website until you're ready to buy it.  I guess that needs to be more prominent. I'll update the About Me section soon, to get that squared away :)

ANDREA - fyi: that sidepar photo is different from before - but from the same "photo shoot" [lol - "webcam session" is more like it].

Love those filthy vodka martinis, yum.  DiAnne will be proud to know I only wear a bra every-once-in-a-while...for sex-appeal [lol - yeah, real sexy with my sweater up in my face].

ROFL - I love that you call your computer "George" - only you, Andrea!  Umm, muskrat foot??  Not quite sure....

ramble ramble ramble... :P

MARY - I know right?  Jen does look half her age.  She is eternally 25 :)  [when do we get to see your new 'do?]

VINCE - Thanks - I like that pic too :)

I'm glad to hear you're feeling so much better!! I wish all of my stresses were gone so I could feel better! That won't be for another month at least though, so I'll have to deal with it. Hope you're having an exceptional week, Freee!!!

P.S. Thanks for the birthday e-card. I can't remember if I thanked you or not yet, and if I have already, I apology. I just have a horrible memory, and I'd rather thank you twice than not at all....

God, I really am losing my mind.  I could have sworn I commented on this entry...but apparently, that's not the case.  Geesh!

Well, I've already told you, but I'll tell you again...just to inflate your ego some more.  Hehehe
