Photo Friday Challenge

Photo Friday ChallengeSelf Portrait.
It's not quite the picture I wanted to post.  But it's me.

No digital camera [yet].  I know when I finally get one I'll wonder how I ever did without it.  But rest assured, when I do get one, there will be more photos with each entry. [notice I said when].  I can hardly wait to get my hands on the world through a digi-lens!

I've been a blogging machine.  Between Journey to Peace, my personal journaling, commenting on comments and reading/commenting on other journals, I barely have time to do things I need to get done.  But somehow, everything is getting done.

I once heard the more you have to do, the more you get done.  And I didn't really learn that first-hand till the one day when my schedule lightened up.  I had little on my list and none of it got accomplished.  But I'll tell you, when I worked on a movie lot for ten hours a day, had meetings almost every night after work and had social plans on weekends, I was still able to cook for myself [vegan meals even] and get all my personal work done with plenty of time to spare.  That's not even mentioning the hours I spent writing.

So, I guess it's safe to say, if anyone needs something done, give me the task today, because I've got a lot on my plate!

More journaling to come...

Hey, beautiful! Awesome photo! I love it! It's cool to see where you work from, while cruising around J-land, brightening our doorsteps :)

I can relate totally to what you are saying about the more you have to do, the more you get done. When I worked full time, my schedule was so tight, yet..my house was in order, the laundry was done, I guess I felt a little more complete too. I will be going back to work sooner or later. (more sooner than later) I think a lot of it has to do with, when you have no schedule, it's easier to procrastinate. That's me anyway.
Love you!

Hey, great picture!

I suppose you may be right about getting lots done when a ton of stuff needs to be done.  But I'll be happy to take a lazy day or two!  Burn out is a BAAAAAAD thing.

I am awed that even when crazy busy you had time to cook for yourself.  I was so zapped of energy that I couldn't even stay awake to GO OUT to eat.  Steve and Lori would beg me to come along.  "Don't you need food?" they kept nagging me.  "Need sleep.  I'll eat when I wake up."  Three days later . . .

JEANYU - I'll get to reading journals eventually.  I'm looking forward to seeing what photos you've added.

C82TRINITY - Sometimes when we don't take the breaks we need, our bodies will do it for us [in the form of a cold].  Always to find time to rest - even in the busy-ness.  [easy for me to say]

IRUN - Throw boxers next time. They're more attractive. :P

ROSAS - Thanks for leaving your link. I'll get to reading journals eventually. Call me youngster anytime! As long as I can do the same with you! ;)

PHINNEY - It's actually a receipts box now.  I love it. Thanks.

TXSGUINAN - Well, I took that pic back in November. I was happy - but I wan't busy.  And you must know I cleaned up the workspace to take pics. [love my skull & xbones]

ROBBIE - Again, November was before all the winter weight was added. Not much. But, if I don't watch it I won't be fit for a bikini anytime soon!

MIA - Yeah, I like the idea of seeing someone's workspace or home. Unfortunately, I took this pic before the redecorating last winter. But it's the same desk and stuff. :) Good point about procrastination. [that's so me]. Love you too!

ALPHAWOMAN - Thank you :D

HEMPEN - Welcome back! And you're right, burnout is a bad thing. :( Get some rest. And don't forget to eat! Listen to Steve and Lori!

Good job on your photo friday challenge! Great picture! I have my digital camera, I just can't wait to get a new one. I think mine would be considered a dinosaur in computer terms. It's nearly 3 1/2 years old. It's seen better days, I think.

I think the "more you have to do, the more you get done" theory is right. I definitely get more done if I have a lot to do, especially if the deadline is close. To a point, I work better under pressure....

I like the portrait and definitely know about getting more done when you're busy.  If I have too much time on my hands, nothing gets accomplished.

Trish....have I told you lately you're beautiful?  And what a body!  =)  I think that's an awesome picture...your smile lightens up the whole thing.

I have a feeling I won't be posting any pictures of myself for awhile.  Pregnancy and I do not agree with one another.  I haven't felt like putting on make-up for days.  Thankfully, I'm getting my hair done tomorrow.  It's been pretty limp and blah for several weeks now.

Aren't you supposed to get a pregnancy glow????  LOL

This is a great photo of you.  You will love having a digi, instant fun, and if you don't like what you see, instant delete!  BTW, I wanted to congratulate you on your journal getting picked #1.  You definately deserve the honor and the recognition.  Sorry I haven't been around much lately, just trying to get through this thing called life.  Now I have more reading to do on your journal to get caught up!

Much love, Penny

Ohhh, I LOVE this pic, your energy and warmth shines through.

Matters in motion stay in motion.  Before you know it, you've written in your journal, commented and responded to comments in no time and still get more done.  Keep on movin' on, as D.'s mom would say.

MALLORY - I'd settle for a dino-digicam at the moment. I'm all for that instant gratification.

NIKKI - Thanks :D

SHARKY - I was about to ask you the same thing about IRUN.  I didn't redecorate [used the wrong term] - I rearranged furniture.  I do that every few months. Either that or I move.

STEVEN - Yup, that's me. Arrrghh!

JEFF - Thanks. Never woulda called it a purse, but ok. :P

BILLBINFORD - Amazing how kids know this stuff as if they were born with the information.

CARLY - :D

INDIGO - Thank you

BERNMILO - Busy busy busy.

TAMMY - That's dedication. For me, I make lists and forget to look at them...or forget where I put them...or even forget that I made lists.

ANDREA - Self-timer baby! Arrrghhh

freeepeace said...

BRIDGETT - Thanks. Post pregnant pics.  I'll bet you're beautiful.  Let's see the new hair at least!

PENNY - Thanks and I'm so looking forward to that digicam.  Instant gratification.

KAT - Thanks. The camera really liked me that day. I guess I liked the camera that day too. :P

MUSE - True about matters in motion. Although, I began commenting to all these comments at the beginning of the week and I just found them [unfinished] today.  That's part of my issue.  Forgetful. Forgot I even made a list.  :P

freeepeace said...

IVEALWAYSGOTMAIL - Visit journals you like and leave comments for them. Leave a link, like you did. :)

MEL - Thanks for leaving your link. I'm way behind. But I'll get there.  :)

HOLLY - You're depressed? Nah, the camera's good to me.

HARBORKIN - Me too!

KAREN - Thanks.  Happy I was!

ANNA - Thanks. And again, it's not a diet I'm on. It's a healthy living adjustment.  I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with Canon.

SISTERCDR - Exactly. Too much time, nothing gets done. Not enough time, everything gets done.

It's obviously you've upped your journaling duties.  I've seen you EVERYWHERE!  LOL  Love this self portrait.  Freee at her desk, in front of her computer, and surrounded by photos of friends.  Makes perfect sense.  :)

gingergirl05 said...

I think this self portrait is wonderful.  It's how we would like to see you--sitting at your computer desk!  Our egos want to think that you're busy reading all about us! lol  I don't have a digital camera, either, but I would loooove to have one.  Someday, one day.  It is true about getting more done when you have a lot to do.  You know there's no time to waste so not a moment goes unused.  But when you know you have a little room to breathe, you seem to get a little selfish, sucking up all the air you can.  You're a busy bee :o)  ~  Kate xo
