Gig Announcement

I understand this is a very difficult flyer to read but my name is on it.  And since I'm all about my name these days, I decided to promote a gig in my journal.

I've been asked to perform a few songs at this benefit show to raise money for Tomboys in Fishnets - an all-women's sketch comedy troupe.  The producer, Edie Magoun, has never heard my music.  A fellow* dogwalker who has heard my music, recommended me and gave her my number.  How's that for networking!

If you are in the Los Angeles area, come join us for a night of music and comedy.

Here are the [legible] details :

Where :
The M Bar
1253 Vine St.
Los Angeles, CA
(in a strip mall - corner of Fountain and Vine)

When :
Wednesday, March 31st
8pm - 10pm
(dinner available at 7)

Cover :
$10 Donation - includes one Raffle Ticket

*the term 'fellow' is used lightly in this entry. If there is another suitable term for the feminine version, somebody please tell me!

MICHELLE - Ahh yog...urt with a spoon! Great for the mind, body and spirit. :P Get glasses already wouldja - they're sexy!

SMILIN MON - Did you live in L.A. when you lived in CA? What's up with the glasses thing? Wear them if you need them :)

KAREN - Thanks. Wouldn't it be great if we could do a streaming video! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes/went.

RC - As far as I know I'll be on at the very beginning. And with the list of entertainers, I can't imagine how she thinks it's only going to last for 2 hours. She wants 3 songs. But I have a feeling it might be more like 1/2. LOL I'll let you know how it goes. :)

If I weren't 3000 miles east of the gig, I'd attempt to make it. Boogie down, that *is* good networking! Good luck with the gig and have a blast! :o) ~ Kate xo

This sounds like a great gig, Freee, great exposure for you and your music not to mention for a good cause, too.

Since I've made prior commitments, I can't be there, but know I'm sending good thoughts your way re this performance. Knock 'em dead (as I'm sure you will, wait 'til they hear the voice coming out of your petite body, lol). Robbie, take lots of pics!!!

Woohoo!!! I twisted Kevin's arm, and we are going! Funny how fast people fall when you offer to pay. LOL. I'll call later today for reservations. Hopefully, it's not too late. :-) ---Robbie

Man, (and I also use that term lightly!) I'm so glad you're a FreeePeace and not a Skankopotamus!! Ewww!! Congrats!

MIA - You're here in spirit :)

TXSGUINAN - LOL - actually 'sister' isn't a bad alternative.

SLOMO - You have tons of web-work to do...not just mine. :D [you rock]

ALWAYS-GREGG - One day! I believe! I have spoken. :P

ROBBIE - YAY! [who's Kevin?]

KATE - I'm looking forward to it. Only two songs - but there's talk of nudity! Woohoo!

SHARKY - Wouldn't that be great if you could just "stop by?" Ahh to dream :)

JEFF - Maybe by the next show you'll have learned to drive :)

MUSE - You've been there for a full set [and a light crowd] so, no worries. There will be more!

PHINNEY - I'll have to tour the country to get to my AOL-J pals. :)

DIANNE - I read your comment 3x and scanned my entry twice before I caught on to what you were saying. LOL Shows I didn't even READ the flyer! Ha!

MARY - It'd be cool if they could do a streaming video! [some clubs do...I don't think this one does]. Someday! :)

I'm gonna tell some of my West Coast friends about the gig. Kisses!

"Fellow" is the correct term for an associate or peer, and has nothing to do with the sex of said associate or peer...

I wish I wasn't on the other side of the country. Sounds like a fun evening. Break a leg!

Wow, Trish...I wish I could be there to offer my support. I'd love to hear you sing live. Why can't you live a little damn closer, Miss Monaco? =)

In honor of you that night, I'll play your CD from 8 to 10 pm. Will that do? =)

Love you!

freeepeace said...

GRACE - Wish you could be there!

FDTATE - Thanks for the link and the support - you're a pal. :)

BRIDGETT - Considering I'll be onstage all of 8 minutes, I'd say you're going over-and-above the call of friend-duty by playing my CD for the whole 2 hours. :)

I only wish that my band could get into a nice gig like that. I stll have a lot of practicing to do yet though. I'v only played for like 30 people at private partys and I would love to hear how your gig went.
