Om Shanti

Look what graced my PO Box today!  I went out on a limb - okay, a very short and sturdy limb - and asked Nadine for an "Om" votive.  "What's an Om?" she asked with what I'd hoped was curiosity.  It's a Sanskrit word, difficult to translate.  I equate it to Amen or, in the Native American tradition, Ho.  I emailed her a few links and images and this is her creation ... stunning!  Shanti means peace in Sanskrit.

I hesitate to post these little webcam images only because they don't even come close to the amazing beauty I see before me.  The symbols shine on the walls and the glittery gold flickers like a kaleidoscope.

She asked if I wanted to see pictures before mailing it to me - and I'm a sucker for surprises so I declined.  Imagine my complete and utter awe when I opened the box.  [which, incidentally, was odorless.  how is that possible?]

Please everyone, give yourself, or someone else, the gift of Nadine's creations!  They are handmade with love and care.  It supports an incredible artist-friend.  And the price can't be beat.  It's a win-win-win, in all directions.

Thank you Nadine.  Your vision is exquisite.  Add my name to the growing list of satisfied customers!

Beautiful!! She really is very talented. I'm very proud of my custom made Nadine votive! She's racking up the references. Way to go, Nadine!!

Odorless... what a shame. And a sham!!! Doesn't she know to soak the package in perfume by now?? Someone doesn't pay attention! Hmph! LoL

Very very nice! If I had the space Id rack up one myself. I have everything from a wooden penis, with a hula skirt, ashtray (roomies got it for me in hawaii) to remotes and gadgets on my desk. Too much stuff with very little space.

That really is exquisite. I wish I COULD see it as you're seeing it. I'll have to order something from Nadine when I'm finished paying for my new puppy. =) Thank you for sharing, Freee.

Thank you SO much, Trish... You made me all misty eyed... :o) But they are tears of JOY, because I am SO thankful and delighted that you like it! ;o) I am my worst critic, I guess... Hey, I'll tell ya something... It was my most challenging piece and also one of my best, so far... ;o) Thanks for puttin' a little faith in me! (now if I can just get some faith in myself!) LoL!

luv, me

Wow! Those are absolutely beautiful. If you say that the pictures don't do them justice, I'm sure I'd be even more awestruck to see them up close and personal. Hmm...I might have to get me one of my own. Screw that "no candles in the dorms" policy :-P

Thanks all for commenting! It truly is a stunning piece of art. And functional. I love that! Emily, you could get one and not put a candle in it. It's perfect for potpourri, loose change, hair clips, jewelry, or you could use it as a shot glass! :P Chris, votives don't take up that much space - and, like I said, it's functional. Mine's one of the larger ones even. Go for a small one. Everyone should have at least one of Nadine's Creations! :)

Wow! This is such a beautiful site--I can't believe I haven't been here before. Right now I'm waiting for your music to load--it's taking forever...I can't wait!

And thankyou for coming by my pages (I wrote a gym rat rant & you asked where I work out--its LA Fitness in Anaheim Hills--a nightmare world of teeny boppers, soccer moms & out of work insurance salesmen.) I'd much rather be at Gold's!... : )
